Our puppy curriculum is the Biosensor or “Superdog” Training, developed by Dr. Carmen L. Battaglia. This is a published study and the benefit of the early neurological development is still currently used in the U.S. Military canine program, first called “Bio Sensor” and later introduced to the public as the “Superdog” program.
Early Neurological Stimulation | Breeding Better Dogs
Puppies are given daily weights and well checks and handled as minimally as necessary for the first 3 days. We want mom to securely and safely bond with her litter and do what nature intended.
Neonatal Period: 4 through day 16:
Puppies are exposed to 5 exercises once per day – each puppy. These exercises are proven to stimulate the neurological system, thus creating a more adaptive, healthier dog.
- Tactical stimulation (between toes)
- Head held erect
- Head pointed down
- Supine position
- Thermal stimulation
When performed daily from days 4 to 16, ENS benefits your puppy in the following ways: - Better tolerance to stress
- Improved adrenal glands
- Stronger cardiac performance
- Greater resistance to disease
Once puppy graduates ENS, the litter then moves to daily noise and curriculum stimulation, where exposure to different sounds, levels of surfaces, textures, toys and learning through play round out weeks 3-5.
Weeks 5-6: The Socialization Period
This may be the most important period of our training with your puppy. We handle and play daily, encourage play on new surfaces, with new toys and noises to bring out the confidence in your puppy and make them aware of their surroundings with the safety of their littermates.
Weeks 7-8: Advanced Socialization/Crate Training
Puppies will continue their socialization, with their first well check visit with the vet, a car ride, and introduction to crates. They will be crate in very short increments with their littermate, so they learn how to safely stay in a crate without the fear of being alone.
Weeks 8-10: Puppy transitions to forever family!
We will coordinate puppy go-home as a one-on-one appointment to ensure we set you up for success. We will go over the go-home bag, new puppy routine, and breeder support expectations.
